Configuring Enabler for UPS monitoring

Home > Support > FAQ > Configuring Enabler for UPS monitoring

Version 2.50 introduced the UPS monitoring capability. To utilise this capability requires the use of the Power Chute software (must be version 5.2) from APC and a UPS which is supported by this.

In the C:\Enabler folder are the following batch files. These batch files need to be configured in the Power Chute configuration so that they are executed when the relevant events occur. Some batch files must be configured for multiple events. This means that all clients of the server will be notified when a status change occurs for the servers power supply.

Batch file PowerChute event
BattFlat.bat
UPS battery is discharged
BattGood.bat
Return from low battery
BattLow.bat
Low battery condition
ComLstBt.bat
Comms lost while on battery
CommsEst.bat
PowerChute started
Communications Established
CommsLst.bat
PowerChute stopped
Lost communications with UPS
OnBatt.bat
UPS on battery
OnMains.bat
Utility power restored

If the UPS of the clients need to be monitored as well then the Power Chute software will need to be installed and configured on the client in the same manner. The contents of the batch files will also need to be edited. The last parameter to the EnbKick executable will need to changed to the terminal ID of the client in question.
