Controlling the Enabler Pump Server

The Enabler Pump Server is a Windows Service that communicates with The Enabler Card and the ActiveX controls to provide pump control. Most changes to Enabler configuration take effect automatically, but enabling, disabling or changing the protocols setup for the system requires the service to be restarted.

To upgrade pump driver DLLs or collect log files, you will need to shutdown the server and restart it afterwards.

The Pump Server is installed as a service named "Psrvr" and it runs C:\Enabler\psrvr.exe.

The Pump Server can be restarted in the same way as any other Windows service:

  • Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7 :
Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services
  • Command prompt:
    net stop psrvr
    net start psrvr
  • New versions of Enabler Configuration include a button to restart the service.

To run the Command Prompt as an Administrator right click on the Command Prompt exe from the start menu and select Run as Administrator or in the search box type 'cmd' and then press ctrl+shift+enter to achieve the same thing

To change the UAC in Windows Vista/Windows 7, you must "Turn User Account Control" OFF. To do this, go to :

Control Panel - User Accounts - Turn User Account Control On or Off

You may need to restart your Windows Vista/Windows 7 afterwards to have the settings take effect.
