Hose/Grade Mapping Fundamentals

To allow The Enabler to correctly the control of a wide variety of pumps types from different manufacturers, it assumes a one to one relationship between HOSE and GRADE.

In other words, the pump (or dispenser) must be configured according to the manufacturers setup instructions such that:

HOSE 1 = GRADE 1
HOSE 2 = GRADE 2
HOSE 3 = GRADE 3
and so on...

If this is not done one or more of the following problems may occur:

• Prices may not be set correctly (e.g. may set a valid price, but for the wrong hose)

• Product may not be detected correctly (e.g. may show the wrong grade name when the pump is calling)

• Presets may not operate correctly (e.g may authorise the wrong grade)

Because of differences between pump features and protocols, different problems may occur on different pump brands and models. Therefore always ensure that the Hose/Grade map is correctly setup on the pump for this one to one relationship before testing begins.
